Set it up
Put your hands under your shoulders with your index fingers pointing straight ahead.
Step your feet back until your body is one line from ears to heels.
Squeeze your glutes and pull your ribs down before the first rep.
What I say while you lift
Screw your hands into the floor and hold that tension.
Keep your elbows about 45 degrees from your ribs.
Move the whole body as one piece.
Push the floor away and let your shoulder blades spread at the top.
What goes wrong
Hips sagging so the low back does the work.
Head reaching for the floor ahead of the chest.
Cutting the bottom third of the range short.
3010
default tempo
Breathe in on the way down, out on the way up.

Before you load it
Put your hands on a bench or the rack pins until you can hold a straight line for ten reps on the floor.
If your wrists hurt in extension, do these on dumbbell handles or push-up bars to keep the wrists neutral.
